The music of tango…

…was created in Buenos Aires, Argentina at a special time when there was a confluence of many immigrant nationalities, each of which brought its own musical influences.

We dance tango to this music, not out of tradition, but because the songs are uniquely rich in orchestration that inspire movement possibilities for dancers at every stage of their journey.

We’ve made a couple playlists for people new to dancing tango.  Some songs are to start dancing…. then a few more to give a feel for the richness of of the musical genre.

If you have a Spotify account, here is a similar playlist you can listen to without the YouTube ads.

One of the most passionate composers of the Golden Era of tango music was Juan D’Arienzo.   Here he conducts Loca!
